Unhappy ‘I had terminal lung cancer, not covid‘

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-60696837
‘I thought it was covid. It was terminal lung cancer’

Julie Smith, 73, lost her sense of taste and had a persistent cough

The Welsh grandmother had recently returned from a holiday at Butlins when she took 4 covid tests because her symptoms were worrying

However a visit to the doctors revealed she actually had terminal lung cancer, diagnosed a mere few months after her ex hubby died of just that

She hadn’t smoked since 1989, and regular screening isn’t widely available in Wales, so Julie thought she was fine

However sadly the cancer has spread to her bones and lymph nodes, and is now incurable. Having undergone chemotherapy and losing her hair, Julie may only have a few months left

NHS England has offered regular lung screenings since 2019 in some areas

Get yourself screened, especially ex smokers

Poor Julie
