Rule of thumb is that Rangers/Protestant/Unionist/Royalty-supporting all goes hand in hand.

Some people will claim that the football fan base has nothing to do with sectarianism.

They're delusional or lying. No two ways about it. Just take a drive near Ibrox on a match day for "proof" (I don't recommend actually doing that, it's ****ing horrible).

Like I said, I'm sure not all Rangers fans are actively sectarian themselves. BUT they certainly don't care about the association with it or that their pals are. Willing to turn a blind eye.

To be clear I'm not even saying that the Celtic fan base is particularly better, sectarianism is a two-way street, but this thread is about Royalty tub-thumping and that only applies to Rangers.
Well it all sounds daft to me. I suppose it would be too much to suggest that football fans could support the Monarchy for reasons other than just being Ranger supporters?
