She manages a café, so as far as I understand, she runs around in a sort of manic chaos all summer (tourist season) and then does ... not very much at all between the end of October and the beginning of March. I think that's basically island life in a nutshell. Very busy summers and very quiet winters.
I'd love to live on an island to be fair - but I'd want to be in or at least NEAR one of the little villages. Her cottage has literally nothing around it for a couple of miles in both directions. Maybe I'm just a wimp
