And that's the key - it needs to be someone who sits well with the 16-34 audience of today, not of 2010 or 2000. The host of Big Brother is traditionally someone who would be a peer of the housemates, not their mother or even grandmother.
I also don't think Davina or Emma have any desire to do it again - they've been there and done that. Davina will always be associated with the show at it's peak so why risk that legacy, and even though BB on C5 wasn't great it was Emma's era and shes now moved on.
Davina especially also saw so many other opportunites once BB ended and was offered shows she'd never have been offered when she did BB (indeed for the last 5 years or so other than Comic Relief she rarely did anything other than BB). It's been the same with Rylan too - as much as it's no secret he'd love to front Big Brother it was only when it came to an end his presenting career really took off.
