Like your Mum, I too am very interested in historical Royalty, from Alfred the Great to the present day. I read and read and read, my bookshelves are full of the stuff. Every dynasty had their own trials and tribulations and wonderful, fascinating stories. In every dynasty there were great people and mediocre people and awful people. I would have liked to have had a chinwag with your Mum, there aren't many people I know who want to talk Royal stuff, which is why I come here for the present Royal goings on and another Forum where we discuss other dynasties.
My Dad, when he was alive, met quite a few Royals, when he worked at Stormont and had to attend functions for them at Hillsborough Castle, and I met the Queen and Philip and Charles on a few occasions as a child, (I always wanted to meet Diana, but never did) so that is where my interest started from I think. Sorry for rambling on…
