There's no justification for giving puberty blockers now that it's been clinically established that they often cause permanent fertility issues. To use them would be to suggest that a child is capable of making the decision that they do not and will not ever want to have children, and that they can accurately consent to that decision with full understanding. As that is clearly not the case, using them without a clear medical reason is an ethical disaster.
