You'd have to be careful with showing too much medical or scientific knowledge, lest you get condemned as a witch. Though mind, from 1624 (aka 400 years ago) to 100 years after that there'd "only" be four executions for witchcraft; by then, according to the letter of the law, it would only be a capital crime if you were accused of causing death by magic, or if you'd made a deal with Satan.
Advanced medical or scientific knowledge might not garner such accusations, to be fair.
