I'm not sure there's an ALTERNATIVE to capitalism at this point without a serious global population drop (now now, don't get Alf started!) - but there sure as heck are alternative forms of socially-minded capitalism with limits, controls and proper wealth distribution that would make for a better world than what's happening now (which is basically all of the wealth bubbling up to the top at an exponential rate - completely unsustainable).
