I’m not stereotyping, Niamh. The thing about white Scousers having significant Irish ancestry is just a fact. I’m not saying that to slate Irish people in any way. That’s not what I’m getting at at all. I’m just saying that the people from Liverpool who were part of the problem good chunks of Liverpool used to have with racism back in the day (not so much now, but as recently as 2008 or even 2012 there were certain areas of Liverpool that black people would be uncomfortable about visiting alone, and you’re just going to take that from someone who knows) were hypocritical and self-contradictory in the sense that it wasn’t too long ago that people quite similar to them in many ways experienced a similar kind of discrimination in Britain in the not-too-distant past.
