That's probably saying one of three things about the current situation in Hollywood at the moment.
1. Audiences are narrow-minded and aren't willing to give new IP's a shot.
2. The current crop of writers and directors are talentless hacks that can't come up with anything new that's actually good.
3. It's both issue 1 and issue 2 rolled into a terrible mix.
