A sports car driver who killed a woman and her three dogs after racing two
other cars while high on drink and drugs was today jailed for six years.
Olivia Riley, 41, was walking along Chelsea Embankment in London when an
Audi TT driven by pizza restaurant worker Laszlo Dancs, 28, careered into her
at 53mph.
He had been racing along the road at three times the speed limit against a
BMW and Mercedes when he lost control and the car span into Ms Riley who
was standing on a crossing island.
Dancs, of Acton, West London, had been drinking vodka and beer and taking
cocaine while out at a nightclub for his 27th birthday before he got into the
car while two and a half times over the legal limit for drugs and alcohol.
The crash caused a traffic light pole to collapse on Ms Riley, who was the
stepdaughter of best-selling author Lucinda Riley.
