I know Coogan is 'famed' for his Savile impression, but that's always been comical.
I have seen clips from the programme and he still seems to be using that comical impression.
I think any drama about Savile needs to have an excellent actor in the role. It's not about 'how's about that then' and 'rattle, rattle, jewelry. jewelry.' Coogan isn't a good actor. He's okay but not great.
They could have used an experienced actor who really didn't sound that much like Savile. The voice could have been a mild version of the paedo.
It's the depiction of the man that is more important.
The BBC fell into the same trap when they used David Williams to play Frankie Howerd. He was nothing like him.
