Option one can be the case if you love the idea of weddings/parties/people you know and love having a great time but, I dunno, maybe you’re a little socially anxious or very small-group bound when it comes to socialising (or maybe it’s your goal to lose weight/deal with an embarrassing body issue before you can wear a nice wedding suit) so you step back physically from weddings and big parties a little unless you really have to be there. And a lot of the time people will understand that.
