That may be true but when the ref sees it, he's supposed to call it.
Joelinton has his arms stretched out. It's a completely unnatural position to jump. It's like he's anticipating contact, which comes from the challenge. It's foul and about as clear-cut as you can get. The only defense other than the one you have given is that Gabby should be stronger. That doesn't mean much, because it's still a foul if Gabby is strong or weak.
