Chanelle has big disadvantages there.

Chanelle is still known from Big Brother, she certianly left her mark. Chanelle is probably more famous now with her TV shows etc.
If it's a good song then people will buy it, regardless of whether Chanelle was on Big Brother or not. IMO, Chanelle's single is better than Barbie Girl, so it has it's advantages.
