Apparently, TECHNICALLY, because of the way the laws are written he could still be POTUS even if incarcerated on state charges
. He could literally in theory be president from prison - there's nothing stopping people from doing so. It's basically a loophole, they really didn't foresee this scenario at all.
And if he goes to prison on federal charges he can pardon himself if he becomes president. It's bizarre.
To be honest I'm a bit whatever about it. The doom & gloom that was forecast when he won in 2016 didn't really come to pass, and the land of butterflies and rainbows that was hoped for when the Blues got back in didn't happen either. The social climate in the US is what it is, and the person in the Big Seat frankly doesn't seem to alter that much at all. It probably doesn't help that Biden's presidency has also been some sort of surrealist comedy sketch.
