He's not actually Australian, as he's never applied to become an Australian citizen. He left Britain at the age of 5 and is still a British citizen. That's the only reason the Australian government could deport him back.

Well he's lived there for forty-so years, so naturally you'd call him Australian, even if he "technically" isn't.

That's not the point. He is a British citizen, which is why he is here. I can understand why he has been brought here, and if it was an Australian national who had lived here for 40 years, we would probably do the same thing.
He shouldn't be out of prison though - ever. While I cannot condone a justice system that encourages violent or death as punishment, I do believe that this man will always be a danger, and therefore should always be locked up.
