Reality TV star Kerry Katona in labour with baby number four

Kerry Katona has gone into labour with her forth child after her waters broke five weeks early.

The reality TV star was rushed to hospital in the middle of the night by her husband Mark Croft and it was expected she would give birth today.

Kerry, 27, was believed to be in the middle of filming the final episodes of her controversial MTV fly-on-the-wall show, Crazy In Love, when her contractions began.

The drama was thought to have been caught on camera even though she had reportedly decided to pull out of the show.

The couple already know the baby is a boy and are planning to call him Max.

Her spokeswoman said: "Kerry is doing brilliantly, this is the bit she loves.

"Obviously it is five weeks earlier than expected but it is within the safe zone.

"Doctors are monitoring her labour and will make a decision on whether she should be induced later on."

Celebrity spokesman Max Clifford said that the former Atomic Kitten was pleased the pregnancy was finally coming to an end.

"It's been a very tough couple of weeks, she's the size of a house and her legs have been swollen – that's why we've brought filming to an end," he told OK magazine.

She has been in Macclesfield Hospital since yesterday morning.

Her pregnancy has been plagued with health concerns and rumours of drug-taking and drinking, allegations which she has denied.

The mother-to-be has only been out of hospital for two weeks after doctors feared she was suffering from the potentially fatal condition pre-eclampsia.

However, Kerry was given the all-clear but was admitted to rehab at the end of March to be treated for bipolar disorder and filming for her reality show was suspended.

Her husband Mark, 37, was believed to have taken his heavily pregnant wife to hospital.

It was recently alleged that he slept with with a barmaid he met in a nightclub in July.

The couple, of Warrington, Cheshire, parents to one-year-old Heidi.

Kerry is also has two girls with ex-Westlife star Brian McFadden - Molly, six, and Lilly-Sue, five.
