People now are more interested in hard workers, song writers, people who have creative control over the music they create. Look at Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift - neither of their voices would probably even make it through boot camp of a talent show on singing abilities alone. But hard work, writing your own music, touring for years on end is what builds up your support/success. So many artists who don’t tour end up plummeting..
Long are even the days of great singers smashing the charts, I.e. Whitney,Prince, Celine, Mariah Carey etc,, people need much more than a outstanding voice to succeed in the modern music business
