I'm very glad I don't make major decisions with my life, how I decipher the world or myself based on the trends and inclinations of the "general society". I've been very happy with my life. That's about all I can say to the larger equation.

Whether one's own picture includes a child or not is up to the individual because there are some people who should never have kids, for any number of reasons. For me, it was the right call. And I'm a growing everyday as a person because of that blessing.

I'll just add we can always justify avoiding paths that take us into the unknown and people tend to cling to whats known. It's predictably produced a generation of unhappy people who have scrambled the first half of their lives to collect goalposts and find out in the end, not only are they not even happy, but they feel they have nothing to show for it. Children can be one of those things we avoid, but it can also be something people rush into, and I find most things come easiest when it's neither... ymmv
