‘It’s our heritage - We need more of it!’ Public share joy as ‘amazing’ St George’s Cross is unveiled
Residents of Nottingham have hailed the unveiling of the country's largest St
George's Flag, as England prepares to celebrate the day of its patron saint.
The 60ft-long flag was installed on the front of the city’s council house, as locals
boasted about the display.
Speaking to GB News reporter Will Hollis, locals expressed their excitement at
the flag being put on display in the city, calling it "amazing".
Nigel Daykin from Canada told GB News: "I think it’s really good to see it up
there. I think we should celebrate, because he is the figure head of the
country in the same way it’s St. Andrew for Scotland and St. David for Wales.
"Why shouldn’t we have St. George for England?"
Nottingham local Tony Hardwick noted that England "doesn't do a lot to
celebrate their own saint", in comparison to the Irish and the Welsh.
Sharing his thoughts on the display, he told Will: "I think it's pretty good
actually. I think that St George could be celebrated a bit more."
Arthur Crumble from Falkirk said "its a damn sight better than all those silly flags I saw on that mad bikemans Channel 5 show - this is a flag to be proud of"
