There is still some quality programmes being made like Skins, Shameless and Ashes to Ashes but reality TV and soaps still dominate. There are no good sitcoms being made like One Foot in the Grave, Birds of a Feather and Only Fools and Horses because they are deemed expensive risks by TV stations and Kids TV/Cartoons are not half as good as they were in the 80s and 90s. There is no good gameshows like Blockbusters, Going for Gold, Wipeout and The Crystal Maze, and everything nowadays seems to revolve around celebrity contestants like All Star Family Fortunes. TV has generally been dumbed down. Looking at satellite channels such as UKTV Gold and Challenge you realise how entertaining TV used to be.
