I'm not convinced that Swinney isn't just more of the same thing, and it feels like a frustrating indication that they really think Yousaf's unpopularity and reason the SNP has been tanking is down to the "stuff with the Greens" which it clearly is not. People also oversimplify it as being about "gender issues" as well and I don't think it's that either.
The issue that's tanking the SNP, is that Scotland actually does (and always has) had a strong sense of social justice -- by which I mean, REAL social justice. Social consequences. You act like a ****ing idiot and people will tell you so/joke about it/take the piss and that person is then free to return fire... safe in the knowledge that they can have a bit of aggressive/"offensive" back and forth without the government stepping in and the police turning up at people's doors.
That's it. That's what people want. That's a fundamental part of Scottish culture and IMO a good part of it. The loss of that is what people are voting against. The SNP does not seem to realise that at all.
