It is misusing it a bit to use the mentions to summon back members who don't visit anymore.

I have made this change.
'Disable Mention Emails' is now selected as a default option.
If you want to continue receiving emails when you are @ Mentioned go to (on desktop browser) User CP (top-left of screen) - Settings under User Tagging (at the bottom-left) and click off 'Disable Mention Emails.
On Mobile go to Site Navigation (with the 3 horizontal bars), then User CP, then scroll down to the bottom and press Settings under User Tagging.
