it's all a big mess. There is good reason to have rules that stop clubs allowing big losses, but, apart from that, the rest is big business doing what they do.
The premier league want the big money owners, indeed it could be argued that they need them. Personally, I don't think Man U owners should be allowed to put the club in huge amounts of debt based on the future speculation that they will still be able to service their debt loans decades into the future, but the premier league allow it
The premier league was never meant to be an organisation whose prime function was to be a financial regulator, and that is what it's become (when it suits them)
