St Helens (it's a town between Liverpool and Manchester) doesn't have a lot of stuff going on besides what you can conjure up with your mates, and maybe a few decent shops. If you've been out of the car for as little as 5 minutes, you've been to St Helens.

Spot on. My hometown is not exactly a tourist attraction

and its got some really rough areas. The town centre has gone drastically downhill and to make matters worse the powers that be have decided to knock down the main shops in the Hardshaw Centre and turn it into a new bus station for chrissakes. We already have a perfectly adequate one, it's only a small town. Gone are the good old days of St Helens nightlife also. You'd have to pay me to go round town on a Friday/Saturday night there now.
