I saw this earlier in the day. Incredibly fun movie. And so clearly inspired by Alien Isolation more than anything else. I knew near enough right from the start that I was going to enjoy it. I do have one immediately obvious criticism that, if it were a feature of another movie that wasn't quite as aesthetically lush and creative (maybe not so much with regards to the overall plot, but definitely in so far as the methods thought up to combat the Xenomorph's defences), would be a death knell for that film, and it's that the Xenomorphs themselves weren't really all that menacing imo. For my money, they were probably the least threatening they've ever been in an Alien movie.
Spoiler:

The human-xeno hybrid, however, was worlds better than its execution in Resurrection, and was really quite unnerving.

I happen to like Alien 3 a great deal more than most Alien fans do, and historically I've ranked it just below the first two and ahead of the others, so don't take it as a bad sign that I'm toying with whether or not this outdid Alien 3. It goes without saying that it doesn't reach the heights of the first two movies. That was never going to happen. But this is definitely a good movie and a fun watch. Easily outdoes Prometheus and Covenant imo.
