Negative-campaigning these days is ridiculous, no wonder everyone is miserable. There's never any sense of "This great country will always be great -- but here's the amazing things I'm going to do for you if you vote for me."
It's just "Well nothing is going to actually be good obviously but vote for me 'cos MY OPPONENT IS A THREAT TO DEMOCRACY AND THE VERY THREADS OF EXISTENCE!!!!"
