In terms of BB8 I think it most definetly effected BB. Would Laura have been given a warning for calling Gerry a **** if it wasn't for CBB5? I think not. It also revealed the producers falseness. They were just waiting for somone to say something that could be deemed offensive so that they could throw them out or give them a warning. They didn't care how many people used the same sort of language afterwards it made no difference to them. They only needed one person to do the deed so that they could show people that they were "putting their foot down".
