She was checking for their response but didn't ever give hers that we know of because it wasn't shown... So that seed in the form of a question was planted very shortly after their disagreement. The comment reminded me she had asked Lily and Lily of course had said Khaled then, that was the second time it was asked, and that's when Ali jumped out to say she agreed. But when she'd initially asked the question, Nathan had said Sarah & Daze... she didn't answer Yes or No to Sarah but played it off like "Really????!" (sneaky...), but was immediately coming to the defense of Daze. Then it was asked again another time to another group with Lily present and Ali didn't state her choice, but Lily came out and said Khaled.... and then of course, that's when Ali took ownership and said "Yes, I agree". So that's interesting how she had just used Lily twice to say the quiet part out loud. I didn't notice this progression at all, but that appears to make it preemptive.
This adds more evidence to the suggestion she's trying to play a Feminist game. In both cases, it's two black women that are involved that need "protecting". She's tailoring her answers not to show who she doesn't trust, but rather who she is supportive of. Hanah, by virtue of taking a stance against Khaled. Daze, by virtue of disagreeing with Nathan. So that would make her stance against Khaled make more sense if that were true. Then when she confronted Khaled, she had the references she had crafted in the quizzing of others to say "Well, other people agree so..." ...
Anyway, now I never will look at that type of question without taping up one of my eyebrows since as apparently that question is not without a motive. It's a good way to start sh** without actually appearing to be asking something innocuous. I'd not remembered it until now for that reason.
If you want to rewatch the first incident, it was Episode 5 near the end where they are all sitting on the beds after the party on the stage. It's interesting she asks Nathan specifically with Hanah present... was she hoping he'd say it out loud and a moment could be crafted from that?... It wasn't until Izaaz confronted her specifically after a "vibe" had been happening that finally she was like "Yes! My opportunity..."... and she looked very happy to have that opportunity. That was not a difficult decision for her.

Yeah she kind of tests the water first with people to suss them out before making a move.
