I think Marcello likes to flatter women in an attempt to make them feel good and that he sees himself as a bit of a charmer, but he doesn’t always recognise where it might be appropriate to draw the line.

The fact that Sarah has a close friendship with him, and seems to like him a lot - as it appears that many housemates do - makes me believe there must be a very positive side to him. I do think we’ve seen glimpses of that, but the main show seems to focus on the characterisation the producers have chosen to assign him and focus on.
same I think he doesn't like arguments and just likes to stay friends with people so was letting her down gently...also maybe a bit of gameplay involved so as not to upset her and get nominated. He was very kind to Segun as well when he was crying ...
