I’ve never seen Thomas and Lily as friends as such, but more as a couple of people who can converse and get along at times just because they happen to be in the same setting. That doesn’t mean either has an allegiance to each other, or that they like every aspect of each other. And, at the end of the day, they all have to vote someone, and if you find parts of a person’s behaviour really annoying, it’s understandable that you would vote for them.
Lily behaved as she did, and she has behaved in the way he described. And, as someone else posted, he has voted for her every time, even though he said himself that his nominations were a bit of a cop-out. I think it’s easy to forget that he is the same age as Lily and might have been terribly uncomfortable in the situation as he didn’t want to cause upset to anyone.
It was sad to see Lily genuinely upset, rather than having an over-dramatic reaction, and I did feel for her at the moment, but i think that nothing was said that was unkind or untrue. Maybe the reason Lily felt so upset, was because she had a moment of clarity, and realised that her own behaviour had put her in that position,
