…this is what one site says…

COST NEUTRAL - Salons pay a one-off registration fee, after that you buy a returns box for recycling hair or metal. Once the box is full Green Salon Collective collect the box from you. To make recycling cost neutral in your salon, we recommend charging a 50p or £1.00 ‘green fee’ to your clients.
PROFITS - Green Salon Collective and Salon Success will donate any profits from recycling to industry, environmental and community groups as well as planting trees.

…so basically, what I’m taking from that is that a salon’s intention isn’t to profit from going for their ‘green status’…but of course, it’s open to that, isn’t it and because it hasn’t been communicated to you (customers) very well by the sound of it, then that’s already breached a bit of trust, hasn’t it…so yeah, the salon will have a registration fee to pay for their ‘Green status’ and they’re passing that down/distributing that fee with their customers of £1 each for their visits…fair…?…well, maybe/maybe not if we want services to continue but it needs to be communicated and the client given a choice if they want to support it with the extra £1…so it sounds like shabby communication….

…on a separate thing…looking good there, rusty…?…...I hope that you’re feeling FINE after your visit…

Thats very interesting Ammi...thank you. The Salon should be giving this information to their clients and then let them decide as it is apparently optional.
