After all, every single Prophet has been said to have performed some sort of miracle. There has not been a prophet since the last Prophet Muhammad, so clearly we cannot speculate but simply choose whether or not we want to follow their teachings.

You should only ever be taught by those whose qualifications you know and can trust because they have a track record of knowledge.
What track record of knowledge does any so called Prophet have from ancient times when knowledge was scarce..!!!!
History is full of individulas who claim what they say is pure and right and truthful. Believe them at your peril......Just looking at the state of the world tells a story about the wisdom of believing religious historians or so called Prophets.
The best individual to believe in is yourself.....Have a mind of ones own and don't adopt the minds of others.....Past or present....

In many respects though, the fact that knowledge was scarce, yet scientific facts can be found in the Koran, makes the teachings all the more credible for followers. However, there will always be people to doubt, as you mention, which is why it'd be far better to make your own judgements. It'd probably be much better to analyse and form your own opinions on teaching etc. rather than blindly following them.
