labour hadn't been in power for over 10 years, so the agenda of the current labour leadership hasn't become clear until they regained power. They said all the things expected of them in opposition so it would be a surprise to many labour members what the government are now prepared to do.

I compare labour with reform to the way the tories handled ukip under cameron. The tories took back the ukip vote by promising a brexit referendum. What labour are doing now is a very similar approach on immigration
