I think a lot of people would be shocked at the things black people have historically gone through in the Western world because of racism, tbh. But the difference is, someone like you is willing to hold space for these people’s experiences and learn from it, which makes all the difference and it’s good to witness. People who play it down with ‘you’re on the corner over-thinking all-alone; unchecked immigration is still a problem and reduces my sympathy for anyone of colour, first-generation or not, illegal or not,’ and they certainly exist on this forum, are the worst. People who have a very particular scope of experience that doesn’t allow for depth, and think everyone-else should just think what they think, or risk being “the odd one out”, like it’s a playground.
