Do you think that records only exist for the trans people that existed? Or could you concede there would be many trans people who existed who hid away, lived a different life or were never reported due to the way trans people have been treated throughout history.

Perhaps look at left handedness in the early 1900s compared to now. Only about 3-4% of were reported to be left handed, compared to around 12% now.

Of course, when we look at what it meant to be left-handed then compared to now we can see that the rise isn't down to anything other than more people 'admitting' to being so because they're no longer treated like they are abnormal, incestuous, evil or have their left hand tied behind their back to encourage right handed writing.
