…I wouldn’t personally link Elsa to ‘child abuse’, that’s something we couldn’t know but for me, I’ve known several young people who have experienced many levels of an abusive home life and it’s not personally what I would feel for Elsa…obviously all things are possible and abandonment/rejection is form of abuse…which we know to be the case from her story that she consciously recalls the neglect that she experienced with her birth parent(s)…the clinginess and reassurances and strong early emotional attachment, feel very much linked to abandonment type issues and that it feels as though she needs a relationship to feel her own validation…that she can’t identify herself/who she is outside of that thing of being a girlfriend who is adored…
