Completely agree with the OP (except for the target, it was clear from the beginning that it was just a part of the house design, and the house - it wasn't the best house ever but it certainly wasn't ugly).

BB8 was the most dire series of Big Brother that I've ever had the misfortune to watch - words cannot describe how bad it was.

I think the girls launch was a great idea: different dynamic and bigger drama and Hod knows girls make much more drama about anything.
The impact of that twist lasted about five minutes. The all-girl launch was a cheap gimmick and was one of the poorest excuses for a twist in BBUK history.
I think the twist was original, new and quite good to watch. That was different and apparently no one was ready for a bit of change.

For BB7, I know 99% of the British public loved it but I don't. No matter what the ratings say or if it was the producers favourite, for me BB7 was crap.
By crap I mean a bunch of lunatics, freaks and morons who act like 4 y-o children. We had everything but normal people except for 4-5 housemates. I felt sorry for them but I watched it because I thought it would be better, I was wrong.
The twists were terrible, the only decent one was the BigBrotherHood.
I don't even mention the most obvious winner of all and the Nikki favouritism and also the most fake housemate ever, Aisleyne.
