Just to ensure proper family interaction my mother actually REMOVED the tv from the living room! I had a big panic that she'd done the same to the video. I'd already consumed Bucks Fizz, several G&Ts and the compulsory champagne cocktails by then, but not dinner, so I was very confused.
We never watch tv on Christmas day, because we have loads of family and friends round. I've never seen the Queen's Speech or a Christmas Day Eastenders. Boxing Day involves a compulsory walk, although over the years we've been struggling to fit it in before dusk. It was after dinner last night before we all sat down to watch Only Fools and Horses. Our first bit of Christmas telly. It would have been sooner, but my brother couldn't find where my mum had stashed the tv!
