What choice did Spence have really...say nothing and have the papers write even more trash and lies about him or talk to them and have them get at least some of it right? From what I read, it sounds like Spencer said most of what he was quoted as saying, but it has always been a case as you have said here, that the press have a nasty habit of quoting someone, giving it a little twist and making things more salacious because unfortuantely 'sex sells'. Why should Spencer tell some tacky reporter or Davina for that matter his innermost thoughts about the way he felt and feels about Kate..it's none of theirs or our business really is it, and as you said Disco, by not saying very much on the matter only goes to show how much respect for Kate and woman he has in general?
Spence doesn't have the awarness of seasoned pro's who know what to say and what not to say in interviews, so even though he seems fairly guarded, obviously a clever reporter will trick stuff out of him that perhaps he would not have said ordinarily. He comes across as quite sensitive and certainly respectful and I have always admired the way he very cooly tells it straight. He hasn't slagged anyone off, and when he has said anything less than favourable about someone ie his fellow housemates... he backs it up with a reasonable and legitimate reason.
Just watching him on BBLB tonight proves that he isn't very comfortable with having to go into elaborate detail about what he has experienced in the house or how he feels about certain things...and why should he be? Spence isn't the easiest person to inteview because he doesn't faff about like some people and instead gives one word answers where appropriate. He is after all, just an ordinary bloke who happened to appear on a reality tv show...why then does everyone automatically expect him to act like a tv star with loads of experience, oodles of personality and with loads to say....even Dermot had a few little digs at him on tonights show!
I am glad he has remained true to himself so far and just hope for his own sake that pound signs won't tempt him to compromise himself too much in the future.
