Why Mohamed? I've already got his personality etched in my mind (Mo's, that is), and therefore can't really put the two together.

It's difficult to pinpoint things on purely looks. Maybe some of his actions are based on that and vice versa. He's done some rubbish things in the past, but has made me laugh as well, and it's hard to separate his looks from him as a person. Having said that, I don't think he'd have been as popular.
