Also, maybe the reason for transforming a room for a task with just two weeks to go is exactly that. There are just 2 weeks to go, and there is no point in having 2 bedrooms when only 8 housemates remain.

Fair points.
But I can only see them needing a larger space if it's going to be a task on a HUGE scale, which doesn't seem to be BBUK's general style.
I still can't see them completely transforming a bedroom just for one task.

But what if they don't get a luxury shopping budget next week and therefore can't afford the luxury bedroom?
