This was a very ominous piece of television and if witnessed in any other context would have set alarm bells ringing. Imagine two guys in a bar for example, having the same conversation with a single, uncomfortable female. While Sarah denied she was bothered by their threatening behaviour, her body language was completely incongruent with this. Given Rex’s apparent need to overpower females and Darnell’s grudge against females for his own self deprecation, Sarah was a sitting duck. Channel 4’s lack of intervention was also fairly sinister. The casual way in which 2 over powering males are broadcast threatening a lone female in a sexual manner is reprehensible. There will be many viewers out there, as this board demonstrates, that believe this to be acceptable behaviour.
