You're right. She didn't know what she was doing. Or rather, she didn't understand (or care) about the consequences of what she was doing.
Children also often don't know what they're doing. Nor do they understand (or care) about the consequences of what they do. Is Sara a child? Is that what you are all saying to me?
No. Sara is an adult. She needs to take responsibility for her actions. I certainly don't condone all of Darnell's actions/words, but he is teaching her a lesson she should have learned a long time ago.
That is why I am a fan of Darnell. Because although he may sometimes seem harsh, he tells people precisely what they need to hear in order for them to learn how to stop being shitty human beings.
