I think the rise in interviews is to coincide with the video release. Decent interviews in a glossy mag with photos get done quite a while before they are published, so I doubt it's panic interviewing. They probably did a bit of a Brian on her by encouraging her to keep a low profile before then.

I'm only sad because if Helen's in all the December magazines talking glitter, and the January magazines talking fitness, then she'll be quiet again.

As for Big Brekkie - I only saw the last bit, as I'd logged off from my computer by the time anyone posted about it. I didn't think the section was amazing, but it didn't occur to me she'd done badly. It looked like the high of a show that seemed more disorganised than normal. I generally think Mike (spandex man) is good, but I don't think he was very helpful today, which is not unusual. He works alot better when the item centres around him getting up to japes. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Helen had no idea what she was doing until the cameras started rolling. It's perhaps a useful lesson for her to learn to ask! Unlike the Lorraine lot that she's used to, the B Breakfast crew probably don't care one way or another if she looks stupid. I've defnitely seen her do better tv, but I'm sure the less obsessive didn't think anything of it.

I used to really like the Big Breakfast, but some days (like today) you can tell they really haven't thought through their items and the content isn't there anymore. In the Summer it totally relied on BB for items. They'd have Mel on one day talking about who did what that week, then on the Tuesday or Wednesday they'd have an evicted person. Evicted person was normally involved in a couple of items. When Paul was on they sensibly had him in on about 5 times! They even had his parents on the day of his eviction. It provided a great deal of the content for the paper review and if something exciting happened they talked about it.

Perhaps they're still recovering from the party season, but I think it is for the best an entirely new show replaces it. The chaos is becoming embarassing, not amusing. Most importantly I won't have to suffer that awful Amanda woman!
