I did that back in summer, all my hair had grown back to the usual length in 5 weeks (I know this as I got it cut again before I went away to Italy - my mother wasn't impressed when I got it shaved off though haha)

So yeah it'll all grow back quickly enough! I think you should go with it, I liked having really short hair!
