how did moral values come to be common sense to most people though? Is it inherent in people to be good or does that come from society? If it comes from society then I would say Religion has probably played a large part in moral/cultural values. whether your aware of it or not

yeah bbe I think by "common sense" Fom means "moral compass". Whether you think your a Christian or not, growing up in a morally Christian nation, albeit a secular one, will have an effect on your "common sense". Christianity is built into the fabric of society. I think this is different from "believing" and I agree with Fom that someone can be moral and know right from wrong with out being a Christian or religious. But Fom you might be kidding yourself if you think your "common sense" wasn't moulded indirectly by christian principles via society .. a society which is still in many ways culturally and morally Christian. ...
