Smacking has to be controlled though and the parent should never get angry. I hate it when I see young mothers in the street who smack their child, really quite hard, for doing something so minor and often accidental, without warning.

I was smacked as a kid and its why I dont smack. I found being smacked the worst because of its ability to humiliate and shame.
I dont take away the right to smack though but it has to be the very last straw. I see some people smack just because there child has a paddy in the street or does something wrong and *WHAM* now thats bad!!!!!
