I think that the contestants in BB are a bit of an unknown quantity, and I am not sure that you can predict the way they will behave.

However, if you don't have proper team tasks, if you divide people into rich and poor groups, you will get the worst sort of interaction.

BB2 started with the fire task, and straight away they had to organise a rota, and work as a team in an attempt to achieve it.

Some tasks, like the world records and the Paddy task, were more individual, but all of them resulted in great interaction. Whether it was Stuart and Penny's clumsy attempts at being group leaders, Dean showing them how it should be done, the absolute team-spirit that had built up by the time of the Assault Course task, no wonder nominations were based on who they liked least, rather than who they wanted out by that stage.

Okay, Brian's and Dean's humour Paul and Helen's romance made it special, but that may not have happened. At least BB2 provided the outline and framework for a good show.

We have all seen how responsible Jonny suddenly becomes when he needs to be, and a BB2-style format could have brought better things out of the BB3 housemates.

Rant over...
